The SLGL dataHub is an in-development platform to access the digital twin of the bi-national St. Lawrence-Great Lakes region’s economic system. To enable the holistic examination of the dynamics of economic activity within this vital region, geospatial data on its trade, transportation and environmental systems are first being harmonized. Visualizations to investigate the dynamics of firm and industrial competitiveness will be made accessible across the four dimensions of our Data Diamond model, which are Global Value Chains, Economic Clusters, Economic Complexity and the Gravity Model.
The SLGL dataHub platform will soon be publicly accessible. Subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to know when it’s available.

Do your own analysis
Our database currently integrates and harmonizes diverse datasets from the domains of trade and transportation, such as industry input-output tables, firm characteristics, transportation flows by mode, transport infrastructure and freight traffic at border crossings in the SLGL region.
Users interested in doing their own analysis can now request access to the database underlying the SLGL dataHub by following one of the methods listed below. Please note that access to certain datasets may be restricted to specific groups.
Method 1
Apache Superset
Method 2
QGIS
Method 3
REST API
Superset offers an intuitive drag-and-drop interface ideal for quickly setting up interactive dashboards. Explore our data using over 40 chart types, ranging from simple bar charts to geospatial maps.
Want to delve into more advanced geospatial analysis? Leverage our data to create maps and uncover insights using a comprehensive set of no-code analysis tools with QGIS.
Don’t want to be limited by the platform? Get API access to our database and gain the freedom to transform the data to suit your analysis. Ideal for users with extensive coding expertise.
Step 1
Clone Apache Superset on your machine.
Step 2
