The GVCdtLab is proud to announce that a new Partnership Development Grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) has been awarded to Thierry Warin (HEC Montréal and CIRANO) for the project ‘Digital Twins for Value-Chain Resilience in the Great Lakes–St. Lawrence Economy’. Worth close to 200, 000 $ over three years, this grant will accelerate the development of the Great Lakes–St. Lawrence Corridor digital twin, an innovative tool designed to better understand and anticipate disruptions affecting cross-border value chains.
Bringing together HEC Montréal, Polytechnique Montréal, CIRANO and CIRRELT, this initiative will develop an integrated model of the production, transmission and trade networks linking Canada and the United States. Through modelling, simulation and data analysis, the project will identify vulnerabilities in supply chains, test various disruption scenarios , whether linked to climate change, geopolitical tensions or future crises, and evaluate the most effective strategies for strengthening their resilience.
This recognition from the SSHRC confirms the scientific and strategic relevance of the work carried out at the GVCdtLab and represents a significant step forward in the development of decision-support tools for governments, port authorities and relevant stakeholders.
